Typical pre-death scene of Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

The First Anime I Ever Watched: Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

Remember the best time for anime? The mid-2000s? Don’t worry, that was a joke. But it did birth my first ever subjection to subbed anime. Queue Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan or Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan. There’s a shiver running down my spine as I am writing this.

What Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan is All About

Okay, thinking back the story is … weird.

So there’s this guy who later in life will become a tyrant, or invents something that changes the world negatively. Anyways, I’m ad-libbing this.

That’s why heaven sent an angel down to earth and back in time in order to keep this guy from going on his bad ways. That angel is Bokuro-chan, our bludgeoning angel. Together with her mace called Excalibur she goes back in time to achieve that goal.

She meets the guy and, well, let’s loose of her tendencies and her magic. Her special ability is: She can revive any person with the magic spell: Pi-Piru-Piru-Piru-Pipiru-Pi. And that one is used often.

Because whenever our male protagonist does anything slightly inappropriate, Bokuro-chan goes for the kill. Which is rather easy as she continues to show from time to time. But oh wonder, why would it not be easy with a giant mace.

How I Found this … Seldom Watched … Piece of Entertainment (?)

At this point I have to thank YouTube for subjecting me to this anime. One day, I was just going on the interwebz, trying to find something new to watch on YouTube. Suddenly, an artstyle that I didn’t recognise crossed my eyesight. After short hesitation, I clicked on the video. I found myself trapped with a video in an unknown language, however with English subtitles, which I couldn’t read because I was too young to know English yet.

Just to let you know, I was between 7 and 10 at the time.

So yeah, blood, torture, death and such things have accompanied me from a young age.

But look at how happy she is while torturing, and that is just in the intro! Speaking of which…

Pi-Piru-Piru-Piru-Pipiru-Pi

This song. It’s soooooooooooooo bad.

I hate it.

But I also can’t stop listening to it.

Back in those days, I only watched a bit of it, and of course, I didn’t understand anything going on there. So, …

Why, Several Years Later, I Continued Watching

At the time when I searched for that weird anime once again, having become aware of anime as a subculture, I somehow convinced myself this was what my older brother watched. I never did talk to him about that, but to this day I remain convinced that the reason why I originally found it was due to it being recommended on my brothers PC on YouTube.

Now be that as it may, after some time of looking for this forgotten gem on anime websites, I found it out. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. It must’ve been in 2013, when my first weeb outing occured.

Now, here’s the worst about it. The original episode I watched back then on YouTube, was the … worst one I could’ve watched.

Yes, the bath episode.

The obligatory bathing suit arc happened in Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan as well. And that was what I mostly rememberd from those pre-pubescent days. Totally wasn’t scarred for life right here.

Dokuro-chan and the other angel with enourmous ... features

Okay, before I write anything else here, I’m going to stop right here with a plea:

Don’t watch Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. It’s not good.

Also please don’t talk about it on our Discord server.
